Description

Endoscopic examination of the airways using a flexible bronchoscope inserted through the nose or mouth. Allows direct visualization of the bronchi, bronchoalveolar lavage (BAL) to analyze cells and detect infections, and sometimes biopsies. In BO, bronchoscopy aids diagnosis and identification of infectious causes of exacerbation.
